Not financial advice

The calculators on calcmatters.com provide general information and estimates for educational purposes only. Nothing on this site is financial, tax, legal, or investment advice, and nothing on this site is a recommendation of any particular product, provider, or course of action.

Estimates, not guarantees

Every result is an estimate produced by a formula applied to the values you entered. Actual outcomes differ, often materially. Interest rates change, tax law changes, lenders apply their own fees and terms, and markets do not follow a formula. A calculator cannot know any of that.

A lender’s own calculator — and ultimately the contract you sign — governs what you actually pay.

What our tax estimates omit

The tax calculators use federal rates and brackets for a single filer with the standard deduction. They do not include state or local income tax, the additional Medicare surtax, deductions other than the standard deduction, or any tax credit. Do not use them as the basis for a filed tax return.

Investment figures are scenarios

The compound interest and retirement-related pages let you assume an annual return. Historical average returns are not a guide to future results, and no decade of returns matches the long-run average. Treat every figure on those pages as one scenario among many.

No personal advice

We do not review your personal circumstances, and nothing here accounts for your specific situation. For advice about your own finances, consult a licensed financial planner, tax preparer, or attorney.
